Vanessa Brady is a Smythes Creek-based artist whose vibrant paintings celebrate the natural beauty of Australia’s landscapes and wildlife. With a background in Industrial Design from RMIT and a multidisciplinary foundation in sculpture, jewellery, ceramics, and textiles, Vanessa brings a rich and layered approach to her creative practice.
Her journey has also included work in marketing and event design, which informs her strong sense of composition and visual storytelling. After returning to painting following a long hiatus, Vanessa has developed an energetic, intuitive style that blends bold colour and texture to capture the vitality of her subjects.
Inspired by her own photographs of native birds and plants, Vanessa’s work merges realism with expressive brushwork, evoking wonder and connection. Her paintings have featured in the Ballarat International Foto Biennale Fringe program and group exhibitions at Phillip Island.
Today, Nessence Studio reflects Vanessa’s evolving artistic voice and deep engagement with the natural environment. Through her art, she invites viewers to rediscover the beauty of the everyday and pause in appreciation of the rich, living world around us.
